The US version of the English two ball foursome is most commonly called a "Texas Scramble". In this game, both players drive and then select the better shot. Then they each hit again, from the same place, and select the better shot. This continues until the ball is holed. In effect it gives the team two chances at every shot. This is a popular game in tournaments where there is a big field, because it goes fast. There are restrictions on the handicap differential and the number of times one player's drive may be used. These restriction can vary from tournament to tournament.
